How to Remove the Trojan Horse Dropper Generic.Fwk

Post by greg »

Every now and then, your computer may end up with a virus. If the virus is the Trojan Horse Dropper Generic Fwk, you need to know how to remove it before it causes serious problems. The Trojan typically installs a backdoor program on your computer, which can cause annoying pop-ups or can log your keystrokes and monitor your Internet activity. To protect your computer or remove the Trojan, you need a good anti-virus software.
1.
Step 1

Install an anti-virus software. Norton and McAfee are yearly subscription services that you must pay for, but Avast is a free anti-virus software that works great. Sometimes, it works better than the two aforementioned anti-virus software programs. Follow the instructions to install the software you prefer.
2.
Step 2

Run the anti-virus scan in safe mode. This works the best because some Trojans run in the background, and you never know about it. If you scan in regular operation, the Trojan cannot be removed because it is running. Running the scan in safe mode prevents any program from running, and the Trojan can be removed safely. To start the scan, click on your anti-virus software and start the scan just as you would in normal operation mode.
3.
Step 3

Restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, restart the computer and when you see the first screen appear, start pressing the "F8" key repeatedly until the next screen appears.
4.
Step 4

Select the action you want to perform from the list on this screen. In this case, you want to select "Safe Mode." Your computer will then continue to boot in safe mode. After it is done, you will see a facsimile of your desktop. However, it will look different in color and size.
5.
Step 5

Start your anti-virus software. Allow the scan to continue. If you have the Trojan Horse Dropper Generic fwk, the software will find it and ask you what action you want to take. You can select quarantine or delete. Most of the time, you can just delete it but if you are unsure, quarantine it.
6.
Step 6

The scan will finish and automatically reboot to normal operating mode. If you want to be completely sure the Trojan is removed, run another scan in normal running mode. If you followed these steps correctly, it will be gone. If not, start over again with Step 2 and follow each step.
