I was able to sucessfully remove Spyaxe using the following procedure:

-----------------
notes:
AJ's computer (ARS) had the Spyaxe trojan/syware. Was not found by Symantec or MS Antispyware. Spyaxe is installed by trojan. Was able to install adaware and removed but seconds later it reappeared.
Rebooted in safe mode and used removal tool. Then rescanned with adaware (still in safe mode) to remove remaining registry keys and files. Manually removed shortcuts from desktop and start menu.
